I wouldn't consider myself an active reader. I mostly read non-fiction and any sort of factual
information online from news websites or wikipedia. If I'm in a library I tend to favor reading through large atlases,
non-fiction textbooks on countries and historical information.
Once in awhile I tend to purchase and read manga graphic novels. Currently I'm reading Bleach
and Naruto, which are both action based stories. They are still ongoing but I usually wait a month before reading again
because I'd like to read more than one chapter at a time. Manga is pretty fun to read because it uses vivid illustration
to tell its stories.
As for non-fiction I've recently read a book about the Taliban by Ahmed Rashid. This book explains
the Taliban's rise of to power throughout the 1990s and why their government/organization remain intact even after the War
on Terror.
In the process of building this website's booklist, I've read through some children's books at the
San Juan College library. I judge many of these books by their cover, as I try to stay away from books I deem as nonsense.
I've come to find out that there are many books that carry valuable messages and sentimental philosophy about what is important
in life. These are much like family movies where there can be indirect messages targeted at older audiances while the
children are left in wonder.
